Closing Michigan Piano Studio, Opening New Studio in Arizona

Our family is moving to Arizona and I will be leaving my students in Michigan when we move.  We are all very sad about this.  I have loved every minute of teaching and coaching you in your musical journey!

I will miss having you in my studio and I hope you will keep in touch and let me know about all the music you are making!

I am looking forward to meeting many new students in Arizona and continuing the fun of teaching and coaching students in my new Piano Studio there!

Solo Recitals!

We just celebrated 4 Solo Student Recitals!

This is a wonderful accomplishment for you!  Each student gave a solo recital that was 20-30 minutes long.  You all performed so well and grew so much in your preparation!

I am so proud of you all!

And Anna too (no photo).

I am a very lucky teacher to have such wonderful people for students and who have been working so hard!

Congratulations on a job well done!!

Composition Recital!

We have had so much fun learning about composition and jazz.  As well as chord reading and how to improvise at the piano.  You all have improved so much!

And I love seeing you create your own arrangements of your favorite pieces as well as write your own music.  You love it too!

We celebrated all of this fantastic music at our recent Composition Recital and you were all amazing!  A highlight of the night was our Heart and Soul Grand Duet!  Everyone took a turn playing both the lower and higher parts of that piece but improvised their own part.  It was a great success!

Congratulations!

Some of the artwork the students created to go along with their compositions.  You are great artists in many ways!

KeyboardFest 2013

We had a blast at the KeyboardFest-literally!  With so many pianos on stage and students playing it was a lot of GREAT music!  You all played so well and had such a great time!  You also learned a lot about how to play at the same time as other musicians, which is a very important listening skill.

All your hard work paid off with a wonderful concert and fantastic ensemble music!

Practicing the day before in the concert hall:

Holiday Art Fest Performance

The Holiday Arts Fest was a great opportunity for my students to share their talents in an open environment.  It wasn't so much a concert as some great music to add to the feel of the event.  People stopped to listen so some pieces and your talents added so much to the event.

The students also practiced playing without getting distracted and playing through outside noise.  I don't think those things bothered any of you.  You did great!

Thanks for sharing your music!

Lots of artists were on hand to show and sell their work.  You were in good company as artists yourselves!
